Hi, I’m Marijn

an artist and former co-founder of Enkel Art Studio, the creative label I built together with Esther and grew into a community of more than 38,000 art lovers. After many colourful years together and a very welcome sabbatical, it felt like time for a new chapter: working fully from my own voice, ideas and curiosity.

I grew up in a little house in the forest without a television, but with a kitchen table permanently covered in pencils, brushes and paint. I went to art school at seventeen and have been working creatively ever since, first as a print and pattern designer for interior brands, and now fully focused on my own art.

Made by hand

My work starts with colour, paper and paint. I work intuitively with rollers, brushes, brayers and my hands, building up layers until something starts to click.

I’m drawn to unexpected colour combinations, imperfect edges and all the little traces of the making process. That human touch, the small imperfections and surprises, is what gives my work its character.

More making, more connecting

For me, creativity isn’t only about the art I make. I want to create places where other people can experience the joy of making too.

From my studio in Zeist I give workshops in colour, collage and printmaking. I think we need those moments more than ever: putting our phones away, sitting around a table together, working with our hands, experimenting, rediscovering the joy of making, and connecting with other people along the way.

That is really what I want to build with Marijn Vink: art to live with, spaces to come together in, and a little more colour, creativity and joy in everyday life.
