The Vtwonen & Design fair is the largest interior design fair in the Netherlands. Over 100,000 visitors each year, from home lovers to interior stylists to design professionals. Think Maison & Objet, but entirely dedicated to Dutch interior design. Getting a stand here means something.

When we received the floor plan, we were thrilled. And then we looked at the dimensions. 12 by 6 metres. A blank canvas. This is either going to be incredible or one hell of a challenge. We chose incredible.

For six days we were there ourselves running workshops, giving advice, showing everything Enkel Art Studio had developed, all of it, side by side. For the first time in one place.

Every day we ran three rounds of collage workshops and the tables were full from the moment the doors opened. We took people into our world of shape and colour, taught them to look differently at form, composition and colour, and from that moment on they just created. Completely absorbed. Paper, scissors, colour.

We launched the Enkel paint and wallpaper line, our monoprint colours, finally on your walls. We designed everything ourselves, from the paint packaging to the wallpaper patterns, each one a direct translation of our prints and monoprints into repeat.

It started in the studio. Making the monoprints, designing the composition .moving works around, testing which colours pushed and which ones pulled, building the wall before the wall existed.

Then came the real work. Enormous ladders, a healthy dose of fear of heights, and one frame at a time hung against a wall painted in our own Enkel paint colour.

The stand was the perfect stage to show what happens when a monoprint travels all the way into an interior. Together with Loods 5 we translated our handprinted monoprints into a full collection: rugs woven from enlarged print fragments, Togo upholstery carrying our texture and ink, cushions with our signature prints and hand-finished with embroidery and fringe.

We styled full interior corners inside the stand rugs on the floor, cushions on the Togo, monoprints on the wall behind. Everything speaking the same language, in one space.
